This presentation by Betsey Downing\, Ph.D\, focuses on mental and emotional skills to develop the maturity and resilience needed to rise to meet our challenges. \nBetsey Downing\, Ph.D.\, was a meditation and yoga teacher for nearly 45 years\, before retiring to become a volunteer climate educator. She has given lectures on our climate crisis\, lobbied Congress for a fee and dividend on fossil fuels\, and has led a bi-weekly climate discussion group for the past 5 years. In January she plans to start a free book discussion group\, based on Training in Compassion: Zen Teachings on the Practice of Lojong\, by Norman Fischer\, a longtime Zen teacher. \n  \nThis talk will be presented via a Zoom session.
