Black History Month Considerations
February 21, 2021 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
EHST will show two short videos, and then discuss each. The first video is a short Tonight Show interview from last June with Jane Elliot. She is the teacher who, shortly after the assassination of Martin Luther King, ran what became a famous experiment on discrimination in her third-grade class, involving separating children with blue eyes from those with brown eyes. The second video is an interview from January, 2020 with Daryl Davis on why we should get rid of Black History Month. Davis is an American R&B and blues musician, activist, author, actor and bandleader.
This talk will be presented via a Zoom session. You do not need a Zoom account to “attend” this virtual meeting. If you would like to be a participant in the meeting, please email us at info@ncethicalsociety.org and provide your first and last name in your request.
