Epicurus and the Garden, Planting the Seeds of Ethical Humanism?
January 23, 2022 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
The Ethical Humanist Society of the Triangle promotes the use of reason and science in the search for and commitment to living an ethical life that benefits all humanity, a sentiment that Epicurus would likely have wholeheartedly agreed with when he formed his school in his Garden in Athens in 306 BCE. We will explore the life of Epicurus and his teachings, including some interesting parallels between how society reacted to him then and how society relates to ethical humanists today.
This will be a Zoom meeting due to icy road conditions. If you wish to attend via Zoom, please email info@ncethicalsociety.org with your first and last name to be registered as an attendee for this program.
