Hyperscale Datacenters from an Environmental Perspective

January 3, 2027 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Enbridge Gas, NC is proposing a 28-mile, 12″ wide fracked-gas pipeline to tear through rural farmland, sacred cultural sites, and sensitive waterways in Chatham County. Fracked-gas is often referred to as “natural gas”; there is nothing natural about the impacts to the health and safety of our communities. Hundreds of community members have voiced their opposition to this project; the Chatham County Board of Commissioners has officially opposed the project, and Senator Natalie Murdock, Representative Robert Reives, and other statewide leaders have called out the threats this project would bring to Chatham. Join us on January 3rd to learn more about this proposed project, its potential impacts, and how it sits in the context of fossil fuel infrastructure across North Carolina. Visit fightenbridge.org and hawriver.org/pipelines for more information.

This meeting is a Zoom “hybrid” meeting.  We will meet at our regular venue, Extraordinary Ventures, where the program will take place.  We will also Zoom the program.    If you wish to attend via Zoom, please use our contact us form (https://ehstnc.org/contact-us/) to make your request.
