The Humanitarian Situation in Poland with Regard to Ukrainian Refugees

Dr. Hanna Gracz will give a presentation focusing on the Ukrainian refugees in Poland. She will start with a little history of the area, including maps showing the shared border between Poland and Ukraine, and how that border has changed over time. Additionally, she will discuss the logistics: How do the refugees arrive? Where do they go? How are they treated? Dr. Gracz is originally from Poland but has lived in the United States since 1984. Since she came to the US during a period of martial law in Poland, she has a unique perspective on these issues. Dr. Gracz is a scientist by training and holds an MS in Physics with a Biophysics emphasis and a PhD in Chemistry with an emphasis in Biochemistry. After several years in the academic world, including North Carolina State University, she now runs a consulting firm, NMR Service, LLC.
