Volunteering in Ukraine: A Personal Perspective

What inspires an ordinary person to volunteer in a distant country that’s at war, where even the alphabet is unfamiliar? What would the experience be like? And why might they be willing to return? You’re invited to hear the story of Philip Semanchuk who has been to Ukraine three times in the past year and will go there again soon. Philip Semanchuk lives in Pacifica Cohousing in Carrboro, NC. His surname comes from the Lemko people in the Ukranian highlands.
